Report: Belarus’s Naftan readies claim against Russian oil cos
MINSK, May 14 (PRIME) -- Belarussian oil refinery Naftan has started preparation of a claim against the Russian oil suppliers which did not fulfill their April obligations, Deputy CEO Sergei Altukhov said on Tuesday, as cited by newswire Belta.
“The legal department of the company has organized work to impose a penalty on the Russian suppliers for the undersupply of good quality oil for April,” Altukhov said.
The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Europe across Belarus via the Druzhba pipeline appeared in mid-April. As oil contaminated with chlorides moved through the pipes, Poland stopped receiving the black gold from Druzhba on April 24, and Ukraine on April 25. Good-quality oil started coming from Russia to Belarus on May 2.
